At first glance, Crossprairie might look like your typical master-planned community. But dig a little deeper, and you’ll find something entirely different.

There are already over 9,000 residential homes planned, with thousands already completed by builders like Jones Homes, Meritage, and MI Homes. But the scale of this community goes well beyond new construction—it’s becoming a true city center for the future of St. Cloud.

Heritage at Crossprairie: The New Downtown

One of the most anticipated sections of the project is Heritage at Crossprairie, a fully integrated city center that’s already under construction.

Here’s what’s coming:

• A grocery-anchored plaza

• Two big-box stores

• 1,200+ new home sites

• 600+ hotel rooms

• Over 200,000 sq ft of medical and wellness space

• A massive 2.7 million sq ft of retail and office space

This isn’t just a shopping plaza—it’s a fully walkable urban core developed by WMG Development, the national brand behind projects in Lake Nona, Winter Garden, and Sarasota. With national retailers like Publix, Starbucks, Raising Cane’s, Chipotle, Wild Fork, and White Castle rumored to be in talks, this area is poised to become a regional destination.

Schools, Shops, and Subdivisions

Right now, the residential portion of Crossprairie includes established communities from Meritage, MI Homes, and Jones Homes, with new phases currently underway—including a new Beazer Homes subdivision.

Crossprairie will also include:

• A K-8 charter school

• A public high school

• Even an active adult (55+) community with all-inclusive amenities like pools, fitness centers, dog parks, and more

Florida’s First Metro Lagoon in Central Florida
